Calcium Carbide Dust

Calcium Carbide Dust is known to find its most common application in steelmaking industry for desulfurization of pig iron, as a fuel, and as deoxidizer. It is known to have chemical formula CaC2 with molar mass of 64.099 g/mol and density of 2.22 g/cm3. This compound appears as white colored powder and is considered as a main ingredient for production of acetylene and calcium cyanamide. It is also sometimes used as acetylene gas source and for making carbide lamps. Calcium Carbide Dust also plays an essential role in mining industry as cheap ingredient required for extraction.
